It Starts Early: How STEM Stereotypes Impact Children

Studies show that students as young as 6 years old believe that girls are less interested in STEM subjects, such as computer science and engineering than boys. To work to shift this belief, researchers suggest fostering a sense of belonging and disrupting stereotypes that perpetuate the idea that only certain people belong in STEM fields.
