As one of the most studied neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD is also one of the most misunderstood. CHADD was founded in 1987 by frustrated parents in response to a lack of support and information for their diagnoses. Since then, CHADD has become an internationally recognized organization for championing ADHD support, information, and education.

While many think people “grow out of ADHD” as they mature, many people with ADHD still struggle with symptoms and management into adulthood. The Workplace Issues page of the CHADD website is a great place to start to understand the issues that people with ADHD navigate every day.

Reflection Prompts

  1. Navigate to the page on Understanding ADHD and read the guide that most resonates with you.
  2. How might you use what you learn in that guide (or in the website, overall) to improve workplace outcomes for people with ADHD or other neurodevelopmental disorders?
